03 / The founder thesis
I believe the best opportunities are hiding inside work, industries, and business models everyone else has accepted as normal.
AI is the enabling mechanism of this moment. It gives us the ability to step back and ask:
Why does this exist?
Why do we still do it this way?
Who decided this is how the industry has to work?
My approach is to question the workflow, the business model, and the experience—then use AI and software to build something better.
And sometimes the best answer isn’t to improve the work.
It’s to make the work disappear.
Discuss the visionMove from responding to tickets toward systems that can detect problems, act within guardrails and verify the result.
See the idea in practiceStart with the job that needs to be done. Give AI room to reason and reliable software responsibility for execution.
Read the argumentAttention begins a relationship. Familiarity deepens it. Trust earns the right to ask for someone’s business.
Explore the philosophyA recurring philosophy
My approach to marketing—and to building a business. Make yourself understood. Give people a reason to care. Earn their confidence. Then deliver on it.

“Make the introduction. Send the lead. Recommend the person. OPEN THE DOOR.”
President / OPEN Houston
Talent needs access: relationships, mentorship, knowledge, capital and opportunity. As president of OPEN Houston, I bring founders, executives, investors and emerging leaders together to help open those doors.
At the 11th Annual OPEN Houston Conference at POST Houston, I opened with a simple invitation: “Look around this room.” The measure of a community is what happens next—the introductions, collaborations and opportunities its people create for one another.
